After his father passed away and his elderly mother could no longer care for him, Bill moved into an apartment community for individuals with disabilities. He still needed someone to stand beside him — for health, safety, and daily decisions. That’s where our Guardianship program steps in, ensuring 100 court-appointed clients receive the care and dignity they deserve.

A few weeks ago, as I walked through our lobby, I witnessed a moment that perfectly embodies the essence of hope. A child, brimming with joy, emerged from a counseling session and eagerly shared a small snack with his mother and older brother, celebrating his upcoming fifth birthday.

I later learned his story from his counselor, Mandi: born with a severe heart defect and having endured multiple surgeries, this boy faced emotional challenges alongside his physical scars. On the eve of his fifth birthday, thanks to the support he received, he was on a path to healthier relationships and a future brimming with hope.
