Your heart and hands give families and individuals of all ages a chance at a happier, healthier future.
There are lots of ways for volunteers to get involved at Family Service of Roanoke Valley. Feel free to tell us your ideas of how you would like to contribute.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”—Martin Luther King, Jr.
You may apply for Master’s level internship to earn supervision hours toward licensure. As an intern or resident with a not-for-profit agency, you gain experience with a variety of client populations and clinical modalities. There are limited opportunities available, so please contact us or forward your resume today.
Do you have a special interest or talent? You can use it today to benefit people in our community! Share your ideas with us, and we’ll find a project that works for you. We also have general projects identified and would love to hear from you.
Do you want to help out, but have a limited schedule? Consider volunteering for a special event to make a short but powerful contribution to people building their emotional skills. Annual event volunteering opportunities include Global Youth Service Day, If These Walls Could Talk or Celebrity Tip Off. Duties may include set-up and break-down of events, developing marketing materials, transportation, or guest management. If you want to be contacted as these events approach, please contact us today!
Are you strong with organizational and efficiency skills? Do you have interest in marketing and business development? Help Family Service with day-to-day operations such as mailings and filing, or project-specific tasks such as graphic design and database management by volunteering on a short-term or long-term basis with the Marketing and Development Office.
If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact:
