Community Counseling Spotlight: Maggie Evans

Please allow me to start this spotlight by first congratulating Maggie on her recent marriage! Now, let me introduce Maggie Evans, a Community Mental Health Counselor with our Youth Development programs.

It took one experience with adult clients for Maggie to firmly know she belongs working with children and teens.  As much as she enjoyed working with adults, Maggie missed kid’s attitudes and energy. Now, she is so excited to watch each teen change and grow from beginning to end with the Teen Outreach Program. When she started at Family Service, the groups for the year were ending, but now, she is getting the ball rolling with a group of kids and cannot wait to start seeing positive changes in the kids’ lives. Maggie also gets to work with kiddos at the West End Center and intensive in-home children. It’s like she can’t get enough!

Self-described as bubbly, sassy, and caring, Maggie can normally be caught outside of work watching Game of Thrones and hanging out with her new hubby. She likes to live her life by a Thomas Jefferson quote:

“But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.”
