Adult Survivor GroupsThese groups are designed to help adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and neglect to successfully process traumatic events and lead more productive, fulfilling, and satisfying lives. Dialectical Behavior TherapyFamily Service currently offers two DBT programs - one for adults and another for adolescents. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, for the chronically self-harming individual. Since its inception, DBT has been used to treat clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and adapted for other difficult-to-treat disorders including dual-diagnoses. This comprehensive program includes a clinical team, skills class, individual therapy and phone "coaching". Balancing acceptance and change strategies, DBT calls on the patient and the therapist to accept reality while maintaining a strong and conscious commitment to change. |
