Global Youth Service Day aims to increase youth leadership across the Roanoke Valley. For the 9th year in a row, Family Service of Roanoke Valley has been selected by Youth Service America as a lead agency representing Virginia on Global Youth Service Day 2010. Celebrating the spirit of community and the value of our youth, FSRV aims to mobilize over 600 young volunteers as they participate in the 22nd Annual Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) taking place on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

In line with the mission of FSRV, Global Youth Service Day is meant to empower youth, ages 12-25, to transform their communities through volunteer efforts and events. GYSD is the largest volunteer initiative in the world.
